Anchors Away

I went on my friends boat recently and it reminded me of the French sailors back in the old days when they wore their infamous striped tees. My goal the next day when I went shopping was to find this nautical shirt. I found this one at Forever 21 for under twenty dollars! This whole look was under a hundred dollars also; the shorts are from Target, the shoes are compliments of Toms, my headband is from Agaci, and the belt is thrifted. Get ready, this trend is about to set sail so don't miss the boat!

When I think of liberty florals it reminds me of the 1800's when the ladies wore corsets and the men wore wigs(: This very girlie print has taken on a new dimension from your garden to your clothes. All of the designers have floral prints in their spring and summer lines. I love this skirt from Target because a) it's cheap and b) super comfortable. I cannot stand wearing a cute skirt but having it run a little too short. It is very hard for long-legged girls to find dresses and skirts that are long enough but still cute. I found lengthy skirts and dresses at Francescas.

Summer Travels

Traveling this summer? Well you do not have to be a model to look cute on the runway! Everyone wants to be comfortable when traveling but you don't have to sacrifice great style. Here are some tips for dressing when you travel.
1.) Layers~ I cannot stress how important layering is on airplanes. You never know if the plane is going to be hot or cold. So in the above picture I am wearing a Levi's jean jacket with a scarf just in case I get chilly.
2.) Comfy Shoes~ Whenever you are going through security I am almost positive that you do not want to be undoing the straps of your heels while getting checked. I chose to wear comfortable Toms.
3.) Hair~ Personally I like to have my hair up when I travel. I would hate to have it in my way when getting my bags and such. So here I have my hair in a cute bun with my bangs pulled back.

Crocheted Lace

Have you ever gone to your grandmother's house and see her crocheting a blanket or scarf? These earrings make me feel like I am wearing something that my grandma made but has an edgy feel to it. I know I just did a blog four days ago about a different pair of earrings but I absolutely adore these vintage styled ones. They get the old feel by their texture but adding different shades of purple in the lace adds a new twist on the romantic by definition look. Pair these with a simple tee and jeans and your statement earrings are the perfect touch to your outfit!

Proud To Be An American

Every time I put on this jean shirt it makes me feel apart of our great country. It has some great aura about it that humbles me and makes me appreciate that I am lucky to live in the United Sates. Different shades of denim are really in right now. Although I paired my jean jacket with white jeans and a tan Lucky bag, It still gives off the same look. Make sure you do not put the same shade of denim and shirt together, this is a BIG NO NO!

Simply Smitten

These simply scintillating earrings have me smitten. Whether they are barrettes or beads I love these cute vintage finds! Barrettes are also great for keeping your bangs out of your face or just the perfect touch for making an outfit more dressy. The earrings look good on almost everyone so I suggest you skip your way over to the nearest store to get smitten!

Peacock Pride

I am looking for some new headbands because they are the perfect accessory to complete your outfit without making you look overdressed. I found this one in particular at a little store in the Harwin area of Houston. I love how the peacock feathers compliment the shirt without looking to matchy-matchy. Headbands are also perfect for a bad hair day when pulling your hair back into a bun. These are a necessity to ones' accessories!

Tie-Dye Touch

The epitome of hippie prints takes on a new look. I have yet to see such a bold pattern become so soft and appealing to an everyday outfit. I wanted a bold look for lunch with some of my old friends and I certainly found it! Whenever you are wearing this pattern make sure that you do not go over board. You only have to wear one tie-dye piece like a scarf to make a statement. This hippie look is sure to take off and nothing is coming in its way.

Peace, Love, Coach

As I went shopping this past week, I came across shoulder bags in the Coach outlet store. I then realized, as I was pulling out my wallet within my huge purse to pay, that this cross-body bag is perfect to shop with. It is lightweight and small so I can only carry my wallet and a few necessities. I could not resist it so I bought two of them! Pair this with shorts and a cute tee and you are good to go for shopping or just running errands throughout the day.

Denim Romper

Denim and Rompers are super trendy right now so when I found both in one I knew I had to get it. When my computer was down I had the opportunity to shop for new spring clothes. I went with a few of my girlfriends and shopped all day! This was the perfect outfit because it's trendy yet super comfortable! This is the perfect alternative if you are looking for something other than just shorts and a tee.

Saddle Up

Summer Boots are very trendy right now. They look great with a casual dress, denim shorts, or a really cute skirt. Make sure that you do not tuck your jeans into your boots though because this tends to create more of a fall/winter look. Leather boots are always classic but look for boots with suede touches because they are more popular this summer. I also bet that you could even find a cute cowboy wearing these boots!

Summer Time

Summer time is for relaxing, tanning, and having fun. I recently went to a CABI clothes party. It was during the day so I went for a cute and casual look. This dress is from Forever 21 and the wedges are compliments of Coach. The wedges make the look more chic but the flow and color of the dress play it down a bit. I wore this exact outit to one of my little brothers' baseball games and I was never hot!

Brunch

My best friend and I had brunch at the Manor House in the Houstonian on Sunday. Naturally, We decided to dress up so I picked this cute little dress for her to wear. The colors compliment each other so well and I love the zipper in the front. The ruffles give it a feminine edge but the zipper gives it a touch of biker so the contrast works!

My Fedora

My computer recently decided to fail on me so I have had no blogs recently; But that left me tons of time to shop! I just bought the cutest fedora. If anyone does not know what this is, it's the cute little number on top of my head. This hat can transform your outfit from plain to completley adorable! It puts an artsy spin on your look and makes you stand out. Next time you are feeling creative grab your camera and fedora and you are good to go!
